When I found this, there was no picture to show it mounted on anything other than the pool rails. I asked Vevor if it could be mounted on a surface instead, they said no. However, from the photos I was sure it looked as though it could, so I ordered it anyway. When it came, I decided it could be mounted elsewhere, so it is installed on posts are the back of the pool to help move the bubble cover from my round pool.
My husband found it easy enough to put together and we then clipped the cover to it. You have help move the cover when rolling back on the pool to get it right, but so much easier, quicker and manageable for one person to do, plus the cover is stored on the reel and not on the grass etc when pool in use. We used to end up with more bugs and grass back in the pool when it was stored on the grass, no matter which way we tried to do it to protect the underside. This is just perfect. If you have a rectangular pool then you can install on the end but personally I feel it is much better to install on posts separate to the pool so you are not putting undue weight on the pool. I most definitely would not want it installed in the middle of the pool on the pool rails, as is supposed to happen for a round pool, it would separate the two halves of your pool and not be as much fun when in it. Unfortunately, the add photos feature of this review is not working, so I am unable to provide them.
