I use these many times a day in a manufacturing environment lifting heavy parts off of the laser table or hot welded parts out of the robot. We have never had an issue. With the safety risks involved I would never allow a sub-standard product in the shop. Handle assembly takes less than a minute and they are ready to use right away.
Worked great out of the box. Very pleased with holding power on 1/4 inch plate steel. Wish i had when building my last project. Make sure you install the lever properly, no issues yet. Will adjust review if issues come up.
These have a lot of reviews saying they don't lock properly and are defective. I thought so too initially. But if it seems like that, it just means you installed the handle backwards like I did initially. Reverse it and you'll be good to go. It is symmetrical and isn't labelled, so there's a 50-50 chance you'll make the mistake too.Once set up properly, these work fine. Very handy.
I had no idea the amount of force it would take to turn these on and off. Eat your wheaties. Er well, maybe that's not a good expression w/ the whole bruce? jenner thing, but you know what i mean.
