We used this button maker for our library summer reading program. After a little bit of a learning curve, we found it easy to make buttons to give to the kids for achieving their reading challenges. I used a 1.25 inch punch, and didn't even bother using the included cutter based on other reviews.We had teen volunteers create most of the buttons and found that you have to align everything just right in order to get a button that worked properly. It worked best to put the clear plastic and the paper together before putting on the metal backing. Also, there was a higher fail rate when we were sitting and making the buttons vs. standing. Not sure why, maybe it's a factor of the angle of how you pull down the lever But we only had about a couple dozen fail out of the hundreds we made, so I call it a win. Plus the kids were so excited to earn the buttons that we are definitely going to make many more.

I love this maker....I_ over 50 buttons in and all have turned out perfect. If you_e having issues it_ 100% user error. It comes with detailed instructions the only thing I did was purchase a punch cutter the one that comes with it isn_ perfect but it will do the job. The construction is sturdy and easy to use.

We were looking for a machine to make goodies to hide/trade/giveaway in a local ""spread kindness"" rock painting group. Didn't want to spend a fortune, but needed something that wouldn't fall apart or break within the first few uses. This machine is GREAT! After having used it many times and producing a couple hundred buttons, I feel better about leaving an honest review.First off, the hole punch diameter for the 1.25"" button is actually 1.629"" in diameter -- which is nearly impossible to find - so we simply cut with scissors. The enclosed cutter is worthless. We used our household inkjet printer on tradition printer paper and it worked fabulously! We used a dab of glue stick to hold the paper in place on the metal to ensure that the image was stayed centered on the metal base. The pin backs are made from plastic and you have to be careful to snap off any ""extra"" bits from the casting process or your button will get stuck in the machine. Also be careful that you're only using ONE mylar cover -- as they tend to stick together and using more than one will ruin the button as well. In making over 250 buttons -- we've only experienced approximately 3-5% defect (either our own fault, or just didn't come together because of small flaws in materials). I'd say that's not too bad. No matter, I'm extremely happy with the investment!

Super easy...once you figure out how to make it work. No struggling and makes buttons like a pro!!! I love it! Instructions are worthless...I posted a video because it_l save you time when you figure out that one troubleshooting issue

It works great but be warned the plastic base that is included has sharp edges. It slid along by finger as I picked it up and it skinned me enough to draw blood. A light sanding of the edge is important to prevent this from happening.

I_e always wanted a button maker, and after some looking around decided on this one. As a teacher, I_e used it in my classroom, and as a parent I_e used it for my child_ birthday party. Super easy to figure out! It came with 1000 buttons to make, already have used at least half with no problem. The buttons are as sturdy as they need to be. A solid item that I_ happy to own and lend to other teachers.

I love this button maker! I plan on ordering it in a 1" button size. Pretty easy to set up... look at videos posted here or on YouTube. Once in a while a button will not turn out.... usually due to operator error I'd have to say. I have had mixed success with using fabric... just a tad too thick mostly. Otherwise it is super fun. My kids have had a blast. We make buttons to "hide" at Universal Orlando in Harry Potter themes, ect.

I purchased This to make some buttons for my husband, but I_e used it so many times now! I made buttons for my daughter and her friends and some for comic-cons. It_ sturdy, easy to use and FUN!!!

I highly enjoyed this being my first button press. I read a lot of the reviews that showed the mylar (plastic film) not being great but the only thing I found is that if you don't do the first part of the press right the first time you don't get a second chance which is why the mylar is reviewed as "bad." Some of the plastic backings had little defects like little bits sticking out but they were easy to cut off and smooth out. Overall this is an excellent machine if you're looking to make buttons quickly and easily. Would also suggest not just using straight printer paper but photo paper instead if you're looking for your pin to look it's best since you can definitely see the lack of glass in standard printer paper behind the mylar. Would buy again and am looking forward to buying plates in other sizes so I can make a wider range of pin sizes.

I LOVE this machine. Easy to assemble. Super easy to use. My buttons look AWESOME!!! I_e made over 150 so far and threw out maybe 5 buttons. Was worried after reading reviews - complaints were likely user error. This machine works perfectly for me.
